Dr Rhian Raftopoulos

Dr Rhian Raftopoulos is an accomplished Consultant Neurologist with extensive expertise in general neurology and specialised neuroinflammatory disorders. Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of acute and chronic neurological conditions, including headaches, blackouts, dizziness, tremor, neuropathic pain, epilepsy, and stroke. She possesses a dedicated focus on multiple sclerosis, acute optic neuritis, neuromyelitis optica, neurosarcoidosis, and transverse myelitis. Providing comprehensive, patient-centred care, Dr Raftopoulos works closely with patients to deliver tailored diagnostic assessments and evidence-based therapeutic management.

Dr Raftopoulos completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Manchester and in Switzerland, graduating with an MBChB with European Studies. She subsequently undertook specialist training in neurology across Bristol and London. To further advance her clinical expertise, she earned a PhD from University College London for her doctoral research on neuroprotection in acute optic neuritis and multiple sclerosis. She holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and the Specialty Certificate Examination in Neurology, and serves as a regional representative on the Association of British Neurologists Services Committee.
