My consultations with Professor Bourne have been very positive and I felt he was genuinely concerned that my eye problem could not be fully resolved. I have accepted the current situation, after all, one and a half functioning eyes and all my own teeth is quite respectable at my age, I feel. Incidentally I have now had an appointment come through for the neuro ophthalmology clinic at addenbrookes on 5th March, which was suggested by the Eye clinic some months ago and I had forgotten all about it, so I’ll be interested in the outcome. Once again, many thanks for your help. Gillian B.

It was such a contrast from the NHS left eye cataract operation where I was not given the required information that there would be no compensation for my high level of astigmatism and the outcome of an even greater astigmatism due to a less than perfect lens fitting. Professor Bourne answered all my questions fully and clearly and the outcome of the operation was perfect vision in my right eye. Fantastic!
