Dr Rachael James qualified from The Middlesex University College School of Medicine in London in 1991. After completing her training she was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Sussex Cardiac Centre in Brighton in 2004. She is also Deputy Medical Director at the Trust.
Dr James is qualified in all aspects of general cardiology and is a specialist in echocardiography. She is accredited in transthoracic and transoesophageal echo and is trained in congenital and paediatric echo. She has expertise in valve disease, endocarditis, aortopathy and heart disease in pregnancy. She is on council for the UK Maternal Cardiology Society.
