Dr. Christopher Broyd

My consultation with Dr Broyd was excellent. He was welcoming and approachable rapidly putting me at ease in would could have been a stressful situation. He was ready to listen carefully to my answers to his questions, and he responded clearly but sensitively to my questions. I left with what I believe is a clearer understanding of my situation and the next steps which need to be taken.

When I first saw Dr Broyd I had been treated in hospital for a week with unstable angina. I was also under the care of a private consultant for the Bronchiectasis which had been detected in a hospital CT scan. I had another CT scan and other tests and was told I had an enlarged heart. My CT scans also showed serious artery blockages, I failed most of my tests for my heart. At that time no attention was given to my Bronchiectasis and I remained very tired and out of breath. I was at a very low and had made my will, I had a planned trip with my grandson and I never thought I would make it. Dr Broad sent me for tests but was not convinced it was my heart and offered a Coronary Angiogram with if needed a stent. A Coronary Angiogram is conclusive proof of any heart defect or blockages of arteries. Dr Broyd found minor issues and a reasonable result for my age, there was no enlarged heart, it was later shown as a shadow from the Bronchiectasis which is near the heart. Dr Broyd gave me back my confidence, my energy for life and more important my peace of mind. Dr Broyd explains, involves and treats the person, he cares about patients.

I visited Dr Broyd following a medical which picked up an issue needed follow up advice from a cardiologist. He discussed my issue very clearly with a pragmatic approach and an approach to avoid over medicalising normal variations. I appreciated his approach and clarity in discussing symptoms.

A fantastic Cardiologist who is kind, thorough and professional. He goes out of his way to ensure you feel comfortable and heard. His advice his practical and reassuring. Very pleased that I’m lucky enough to have him as my cardiologist.
