Nicolena Theodorou

Nicolena Theodorou is an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor with extensive experience working across private mental health hospitals and therapeutic services. She has been practising at Nightingale Hospital since 2019, where she offers individual therapy to patients presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions. Her therapeutic approach combines elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, and psychodynamic therapy to tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs.

She has worked with individuals experiencing conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, behavioural and substance-related addictions (including alcohol, drugs, gambling, and technology), as well as eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder (BED) and other specified feeding or eating disorders (OSFED). Nicolena also supports clients dealing with bereavement, panic attacks, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, phobias, sleep disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dual diagnosis, and psychosexual difficulties.

Her professional experience includes work as a clinical supervisor and psychotherapist at various institutions including Serenity Centre Ltd and the Priory Group. She is skilled in both group and one-to-one therapy and has conducted research on sexual abuse, presenting findings at the 22nd Annual BACP Research Conference.

Nicolena is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She has completed an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, alongside a postgraduate diploma and certificate in the same field. Her training includes a psychology conversion course and additional certification in EMDR.

She offers therapy in both English and Greek and is committed to working collaboratively with her clients, using a flexible, integrative framework that adapts to each person’s unique experience and needs.
