Lauren's approach of tough love was exactly what I needed to find the strength within myself to recovery from my ED. Without her support, but also her pushes towards accountability, I never would have been able to become the woman I am today. Forever grateful & will always be recommending her as a therapist! Her heart is in the right place.
I started therapy with Lauren in January 2022, after first reaching out in late 2021. At the time, I was really struggling with something I didn’t fully understand. It felt overwhelming, like a huge tangled weight I couldn’t begin to unpack on my own. I knew I needed help, but I didn’t know what therapy could offer me. I couldn’t have imagined how different I’d feel now. From the beginning, Lauren offered a space that felt safe and steady. She always knew how to guide the conversation gently but meaningfully. She helped me find words for feelings I couldn’t explain. She echoed things back to me in ways that made me feel understood, never judged. And even in my darkest moments, she held hope for me when I couldn’t hold it myself. Lauren is not only an incredibly skilled therapist, she’s also a deeply kind and grounded person. I don’t know as much about her as she knows about me, but I felt close to her because of who she is. She reminded me that I was enough, but more than that, she patiently walked with me until I could to feel it for myself. I’m endlessly grateful for her, and for the path she chose. I know she will continue to help so many people, just as she helped me.
I initially started working with Lauren as part of my eating disorder recovery and I cannot recommend her enough! I find it difficult to open up and trust people easily, but from day one Lauren provided a safe space to enable us to build that therapeutic relationship and trust. Lauren played a vital part in my eating disorder recovery, helping me to regain my sense of self, supporting me through the highs and lows, and rebuilding my life. Lauren is kind, caring and approachable. Lauren also has a firm but kind approach which really helped me challenge my ED thoughts/behaviours and my denial about my illness. Lauren has always believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and enabled me to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am still currently working with Lauren as part of my PTSD/trauma processing and I couldn't think of anyone better to support me through this next part of my recovery. I am so grateful that Lauren has been supporting me on this journey and for the massive positive impact she has played, to enable me to build a life working living again. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for Lauren's support and how blessed I feel to have her support and guidance on this strange recovery journey!
I owe my life and happiness to getting the help I needed and finally being able to recover. I felt truly hopeless and getting therapy was my final try to recover from my eating disorder. And it worked! It wasn’t easy, not going to lie. It was a rollercoaster but so worth it. Throughout therapy I was always reminded of the bigger picture while making small steps, one day at a time. Went through highs and lows and in the end got my life back. The honesty in therapy was wat stood out most. I was faced with the fact it was never about the food. Not focussing on food but the feelings that were covered helped me process all that stood in the way if living my life. It’s so easy to do nothing, but it’s much more powerful to act and fight for your right to live. I worked hard for years. Found peace and the love of my life (literally being in treatment) who I can call my husband. The greatest thing I ever learned is to love and be loved in return.
Before Lauren I had a really negative view of therapy after trying multiple therapists with no success - but lauren has helped me in ways i couldn’t have even imagined before I started sessions with her and I will forever be so greatful to her for that!
The Hope Space gave us exactly the hope we needed when we were close to despair. Our daughter was very ill but Lauren supported both her and us through the darkest time and helped set her on the path to recovery. The approach is practical and extremely supportive and encouraging. Lauren literally rescued our daughter and our family.
Lauren is a truly outstanding therapist. My trepidation, guilt and shame have not only been met with warmth, understanding and a complete lack of judgment, but also with a genuine desire and willingness to shed light on where my true value and worthiness as an individual lies. We primarily use EMDR to continue to work through several areas I struggle with and I’ve been amazed at how transformative this therapeutic technique has been thus far. Its true impact however, stems entirely from Lauren’s highly specialist skill and expertise as well as the therapeutic environment and relationship itself. One of sound trust, profound compassion and a sense of safety I have too often longed for. Interspersed among some emotionally challenging sessions have been several lighthearted sessions full of levity and humour all in the knowledge that striking this balance in therapy is ultimately the most healing approach. Lauren is completely committed to helping you live a fulfilling life, devoid of burden and brimming with joy and I cannot recommend her enough. With Lauren by your side and the strength to hold onto hope, your journey to recovery is in the safest hands. Thank you, Lauren, for everything!
Wow, I’m honestly a little lost for words—this review is just so incredibly beautiful. I feel deeply honoured and truly grateful that you took the time to write such a thoughtful reflection on your experience. Knowing that the work we’re doing together is a small part of your journey means the world to me. I feel so lucky not only to love the work I do, but to walk alongside such amazing people like you. This was such a gift to read—thank you, thank you, thank you.
Lauren was an incredible help during the early stages of my recovery. She's been amazingly supportive and I'm so grateful that she encouraged me to keep working at improving. I can't recommend her care enough!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. We so appreciate it! Good luck for your ongoing journey !!!
We have had / are having an excellent experience at the Hope Space. I'm not exagerrating when I say it has been life changing for my daughter, and us as a family. Lauren quickly built trust with my daughter, who actually looks forward to seeing Lauren (unlike previous therapists). Even when she reached a point where she no longer needed to see Lauren, my daughter still wanted to. Lauren is a lovely, compassionate therapist for my daughter, and her communications with us and my daughter's psychiatrist have been clear, proactive and extremely helpful. I have already recommended the Hope Space to several friends, and will continue to do so.
This is so heartwarming. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I have a sneaky suspicion of who this is! It was such a privilege to work alongside your amazing daughter and both of you as well! I am so proud of her progress and thank you for being such a wonderful family. Sending so much strength and hope on your ongoing journey !
Lauren very quickly understood the triggers behind my 19yr old daughter’s ED and within a month had helped to bring its progression to a halt. She connected well with B, both online and in person, and five months later true recovery started. I hope that my daughter never returns to the dark days of last summer but, if she does, Lauren is the first person we would call.
Thank you so so much for this review. It is always such a pleasure to work with clients, but also very special to work with their family as well. I am so pleased that B is doing so well and that I was able to be apart of her journey.

Lauren Marie Aron has a passion for treating clients that have a disordered relationship with food and body. She uses a range of methods when working with clients. Her therapeutic skills are firstly grounded in sound social work principles and she combines these with a strong interest in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Her aim is to provide a supportive and non-judgemental space for clients to share their current difficulties and to find their inner strength. She also integrates Transactional Analysis in her work with clients, which looks at how we interact with others & EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma or to help reprocess core beliefs that impact life negatively. Life can get difficult, and sometimes a little help from a professional Therapist can make things better. She cares about your well-being and provides you all the tools you need in order to seize the day and learn how to tackle even the most traumatic circumstances. In this episode we talk about the global effect of eating disorder and how heavily our culture influences our relationship with food, about body image in different cultures, what it means to grow up with a mother having and eating disorder and how self-growth happens through a stoic viewpoint at death.
