Dr Nabiha Asad

Dr Nabiha Asad is a highly dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who provides comprehensive, family-centred care for children and young people. With a reassuring and compassionate approach, she focuses on the physical and mental well-being of her young patients, working closely with families to achieve the best possible health outcomes. Dr Asad is committed to delivering high-quality medical care tailored to the unique needs of every child she treats.

In her clinical practice, Dr Asad manages a wide range of general paediatric conditions, including asthma, recurrent infections, feeding difficulties, abdominal pain, constipation, growth concerns, and headaches. She possesses a specialised interest in paediatric epilepsy, with particular expertise in assessing and managing complex and drug-resistant epilepsy. Additionally, she evaluates children presenting with paroxysmal events, such as faints and transient episodes of altered awareness, commonly referred to as "funny turns".

Dr Asad completed her medical degree (MBBS) and undertook her specialist paediatric training in Manchester. She further advanced her expertise by completing a post-Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) fellowship in complex epilepsy at a leading regional epilepsy surgery centre. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH), as well as a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH).

Beyond her clinical duties, Dr Asad is deeply involved in medical education and professional development. She serves as an Honorary Lecturer and placement supervisor for medical students, and she is an instructor on specialised Paediatric Epilepsy Training and Childhood Headache Training courses. Dedicated to supporting the wider medical community, she also acts as an International Tutor, mentoring and guiding international medical graduates as they progress in their careers.
