Dr Daniel Velasco Sanchez

Dr Daniel Velasco Sanchez is a highly skilled Paediatric Cardiologist specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart conditions in both children and adults. He has particular expertise in minimally invasive cardiac catheter ("keyhole") procedures, offering advanced treatment options for patients of all ages born with heart defects.

He graduated in 2000 from the University of La Laguna, Spain and has undertaken extensive international training across Spain, Canada, and the UK. Dr Velasco Sanchez completed his training in General Paediatrics at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona. 

His expertise in paediatric cardiology and both adult and paediatric cardiac catheter techniques was developped in 3 different centres: Sant joan de Deu Hospital, Barcelona, Spain, Sainte Justine Hospital, Montreal, Canada and Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds, UK.

In his clinical practice, he performs a range of diagnostic tests, including transthoracic echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (ECG), Holter ECG monitoring, and exercise testing. He manages a variety of conditions in children, such as cardiac murmurs, arrhythmias, palpitations, syncope/dizzyness, and chest pain.

For adult patients with congenital heart disease, he performs the whole scope of advanced transcatheter procedures, including Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) device closures, as well as transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation and coarctation stent angiopalsty.

Dr Velasco Sanchez is a member of the British Congenital Cardiac Association (BCCA). He is a regular faculty member for international meetings and is committed to delivering innovative, patient-focused cardiac care.
