Ms Maria Vella

Ms Maria Vella is a Consultant Gynaecologist at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust with a private practice at BMI St Edmunds Hospital. She qualified in 1999 from the University of Malta and trained in obstetrics and gynaecology in the London area. Ms Vella obtained her MRCOG in 2003 and underwent subspecialty training in urogynaecology at King's College Hospital.

Ms Vella treats patients with general gynaecology problems (including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, benign ovarian cysts). Her area of expertise is urogynaecology and she has a special interest in the treatment of urinary incontinence and urogenital prolapse.

Ms Vella has a keen interest in research and has co-authored a number of research papers in peer-review journals as well as numerous book chapters. She regularly presents at national and international conferences.
