About Mr Timothy Justin
M Timothy Justin, is a skilled Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at St Edmund's Hospital with over 30 years of experience. He completed his medical degree at The London Hospital Medical College in 1988 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1992.
Having transitioned to the Academic Department of Surgery at the University of Nottingham, Mr Justin's research focused on the effects of the gastrin hormone in gastric and colorectal cancer. His work also involved conducting trials with novel agents for the treatment of these cancers. He published his thesis in 1995 and was awarded his DM from the University of Nottingham in the same year.
Mr Justin completed his specialist training in Nottingham Hospitals and Sheffield, Mr Justin assumed the role of a consultant at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds in 2000. In 2016, he shifted to a full-time position as an independent surgical consultant at the BMI St Edmunds Hospital. Operating in both private practice and with NHS patients, he addresses a diverse range of general and gastrointestinal pathology, placing a particular emphasis on GI endoscopic investigation.
Mr Justin has clinical interests in laparoscopic surgery, colonoscopy, transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEMS), PPH for haemorrhoids (piles) and Bard Polysoft inguinal preperitoneal hernia patch.
Beyond his clinical practice, Mr Justin holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Cambridge and has served as a tutor for the Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine.
