About Mr Seth Gillman

I am a fully qualified counsellor, holding a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling (Merit) from Thames Valley University. I am a Registered Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I have been practising as a counsellor, first as a student and now post-qualification, since May 2008.

I have experience of supporting clients with a wide range of emotional and mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress, bullying, workplace issues, sexuality and many more. I have undertaken voluntary placements at Bereft, Mind and Place2Be, a school-based young person's counselling service. I have been in private practice since 2010 and have counselled clients with diverse backgrounds, ages and presenting issues.

Although my early work was mainly focused on bereavement, I now have wide experience of working with adults as well as young people presenting with issues which reflect the range of challenges people face in their day-to-day lives. I aim to establish a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients, and to support clients to find the answers which are right for them.

I am trained in and work from a Person-Centred and Existential approach, offering unconditional acceptance and warmth, although I will gently challenge clients if the need arises. I am highly experienced in the field of bereavement and have undertaken extensive training in this field. As well as working extensively with adults, I have wide experience of assisting bereaved young people and ran a bereavement group at a Hillingdon school between 2002 - 2011.
