Mr Nicholas Lagattolla

Mr Nicholas Lagattola is a Consultant General Surgeon who qualified from Nottingham University Medical School in 1985 and proceeded into a career in general surgery based in London at Guy's and St Thomas' and allied hospitals in the Southern Home Counties.

He specialises in vascular and endocrine surgery and was appointed consultant in these and general surgery in Dorset in 1999 and has since practiced there.

Mr Lagattolla went on to pioneer several procedures, including the initiation of a carotid artery endarterectomy service in West Dorset, thoracoscopic removal of ectopic parathyroid tumours, and complex procedures for removal of massive compressing goitres safely. These have been published in the medical literature, as well as many other articles, case reports and series.

He currently specialise in modern endovenous procedures for straight forward and complex varicose veins and their sequelae, regularly undertaking the entire spectrum of techniques from simple sclerosant injections through ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, laser endothermal ablation, MOCA, endoluminal bio-adhesive closure, and ambulatory phlebectomy, with excellent results.
