Professor Tas Qureshi

Professor Tas Qureshi is a senior Consultant General and Gastrointestinal Surgeon with internationally recognised expertise in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He qualified from King’s College Hospital, London, and was appointed as a consultant in Dorset in 2009. He currently works with University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and sees private patients at The Harbour Hospital in Poole, with additional private practice listed at Nuffield Health Bournemouth.

His practice covers both routine and complex general and colorectal surgery. He regularly treats gallstones and all types of hernias, and also performs minimally invasive surgery for bowel cancer, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and endometriosis. His wider expertise includes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, haemorrhoids, fistula and pilonidal disease.

Professor Qureshi has played an important role in advancing minimally invasive surgery in the UK. He was appointed by the Department of Health as a National Trainer in Laparoscopic Surgery and has delivered masterclasses and surgical teaching nationally and internationally. He is also experienced in robotic colorectal surgery and helped lead his unit to recognition as a European Centre of Excellence..
