Dr Al-Obaidi is a Consultant Radiologist and Interventional Pain Specialist with extensive experience in diagnostic imaging, musculoskeletal and spinal radiology, ultrasound, and image-guided interventions.
He works as a Consultant Radiologist at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, where he also holds senior leadership responsibilities as Deputy Clinical Director for Radiology and Ultrasound Clinical Lead. His clinical practice includes neuroradiology, head and neck imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, ultrasound, and a wide range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Alongside his NHS work, Dr Al-Obaidi has a particular specialist interest in interventional pain management. He performs a broad range of image-guided procedures, including spinal injections, caudal epidural injections, sacroiliac joint injections, medial branch blocks, nerve root injections, ultrasound-guided joint and soft tissue injections, hydrodistension, barbotage and other musculoskeletal interventions.
He is Clinical Lead for Spine and Musculoskeletal Injection Clinics at Health Sciences University and is also Associate Professor of Radiology and an Honorary Visiting Associate Professor. He has an active interest in education, clinical governance and the development of safe image-guided interventional services.
Dr Al-Obaidi also practises privately at Dorset Pain Clinic, Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital, Harbour Hospital Poole and HSU in Bournemouth, providing specialist assessment and image-guided treatment for patients with musculoskeletal, spinal and chronic pain conditions.
He graduated with an MBChB with Distinction and subsequently completed two Master's degrees in Radiology, both awarded with Distinction, from Ain Shams University and King's College London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR).

His specialist interests include:
• Musculoskeletal and spinal imaging
• Interventional pain procedures
• Ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections
• Spinal injections and nerve blocks
• Neuroradiology
• Head and neck imaging
