Mr Muhammad Shakeel

Mr Shakeel started working as a consultant head and neck and thyroid surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the completion of his training in 2015. His private practice is at Albyn Hospital.

He undertakes the following procedures as part of his practice:

• Thyroidectomy
• Branchial cyst excision
• Neck lump excision
• Neck node excision
• Neck cyst excision

He sees patients with the following issues:

• Thyroid lump
• Neck lump
• Salivary gland lump
• Head and neck cancer
• Voice problems
• Dysphagia
• Nasal blockage
• Sinusitis
• Nasal polyps
• Ear problems including hearing loss
• General adult and Paediatric ENT disorders

He earned his medical degree in 1999 from the University of Punjab. For his fellowship, Mr Shakeel trained at the Manukau Super Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand; where he spent 1 year. He was trained in basic and advanced surgery in Scotland, moving between Aberdeen and Dundee (the North East of Scotland training scheme in Otolaryngology – head and neck surgery). Part of his interest includes salivary gland disorders and endolaryngeal surgery, as well as laser resection of early-stage laryngeal cancers.

Regarding academics, Mr Shakeel is experienced in presenting and publishing, and his papers are available on Pubmed and Research Gate. Additionally, he teaches undergraduate medical and nursing students and shares his knowledge with his colleagues.
