Mr Panagiotis Asimakopoulos

Mr. Panagiotis Asimakopoulos is an accomplished ENT surgeon with extensive training and experience in head and neck surgical oncology. He obtained his first undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, USA, followed by his medical degree from the University of Aberdeen Medical School in 2007. Mr. Asimakopoulos holds a Master’s degree in Surgical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh and a second Master’s in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Patras, Greece.

His higher specialty training in ENT surgery was completed in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, after which he pursued a hands-on clinical fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA. During this fellowship, Mr. Asimakopoulos gained extensive experience in complex ablative head and neck surgery, as well as minimally invasive techniques for the larynx, pharynx, oral cavity, and thyroid.

Currently, Mr. Asimakopoulos holds a full-time consultant position in ENT surgery at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. He plays an active role in the West of Scotland Head and Neck Cancer and Thyroid Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams, contributing his expertise to the comprehensive care of patients. He is also involved in postgraduate training of ENT trainees at both local and national levels.

Additionally, Mr. Asimakopoulos is dedicated to advancing clinical knowledge in his field through active participation in clinical research. He has contributed to national and international collaborative studies and has published his findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
