Mr Alkari holds an academic appointment at the University of Aberdeen as a senior lecturer and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I had an excellent experience with Mr Alkari and the Albyn hospital staff. I felt confident going into the surgery and had a quick recovery. The incisions were small and have healed beautifully. the trauma to my abdomen I incurred was very minimal in comparison to others who I have known to have had the same surgery. I’m sure this is down to Mr Alkari’s care and skill. All my symptoms previous to the operation have been relieved and I have 0 post surgery complications, and am living normally 5 weeks post op. The hospital stay was very good. Quiet space with attentive and friendly nurses/staff. Dr.Johnson the anaesthetist was very good at putting me at ease for my first surgery and I fell into a gentle and painless sleep. Would highly recommend anyone having their lap chole to choose this surgeon/hosptial

Throughout my experience Dr. Al-Kari unhurriedly took the time to discuss and explain the procedure of removing my gallbladder. Pre-operation I felt relaxed and confident of his ability. Immediately after the operation I appreciated his bedside conversation telling abut my individual procedure and the consultation which would be arranged for 2-3 weeks later. At every stage I have been entirely satisfied and would not hesitate in recommending him to others or returning to his care for any further surgery.
