Mr Michael Saunders

Mr. Michael Saunders is a Consultant General Surgeon with over three decades of experience in the treatment and management of gastrointestinal disorders including hernia repair, endoscopy, and also bowel cancer. Mr. Saunders focuses his practice around the early detection of disease and understands the need to overcome the stigmas of medical care. He sees private patients at the One Hatfield Hospital, The BMI Cavell Hospital, and the BMI Kings Oak Hospital.

Mr. Saunders gained his primary medical qualification in 1993 at University College London, after which he gained membership with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. During this time, Mr. Saunders gained knowledge and expertise in laparoscopic surgical techniques, allowing him to become highly proficient in such procedures and also gain more knowledge and insight into post-operative pain that may follow laparoscopic surgery.

Mr. Saunders is also an active member of the scientific research field, authoring various publications on day surgery and laparoscopic surgery. He is also actively involved in the education of future surgeons and healthcare professionals, acting as an Undergraduate Medical Tutor and also Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at University College London Medical School.
