Mark Webb was brilliant from start to finish. I felt like I was being listened to for the first time and not dismissed or sent away with pain killers or a steroid injection. He understood that although I’m never going to play sport at a high level, that playing for health, wellbeing and the social side was important to me and his aim was to get me back to playing. He also understood and agreed when I said I didn't want to spend my life on pain meds. He explained the surgical process to me in great detail, in a way which an ordinary lay person could understand. He made himself available to me when I had questions. He advised me on pain levels post surgery and what to expect in the weeks following the surgery. Which was all spot on. His bedside manner was friendly, professional and understanding.

Mr Webb has been wonderful since our first meeting. He is warm, approachable, and reassuring. He has always thoroughly and clearly explained what the next steps would be, and I felt like he genuinely cared about improving my condition. I am recovering really well since my procedure.

I am so impressed with the way Dr Mark Webb explained what would happen before I had the surgery on my hip and with the way our meetings were dealt with face to face.

I have been under Mr Webb’s care since 2020, when I sustained a horrendous multi-ligament knee injury. I was initially met with confusion about how best to proceed with my treatment, but when I was referred to Mr Webb I felt far more at ease. He was very calm and reassuring, and I always had absolute confidence that he had the knowledge and skills to facilitate with what was a very complex surgery and recovery. Mr Webb in has completely rebuilt my knee, giving me far greater mobility and stability than I had thought possible after the injury. I honestly feel as though my ‘life changing’ knee accident and surgery really hasn’t changed my life very much at all, and I can still do all the things I love to do. This is all thanks to him and the team at SWLEOC.

I was so impressed with the treatment and care that I recieved from Mark. He explained my condition and outlined the options available very clearly. I felt he had an instinctive understanding of what the problem was, backed up by the latest research. Following the surgery and rehab physiotherapy, I'm now back to normal activity and exercise, my pain has greatly reduced and I'm confident that I will continue to improve. It was an entirely positive experience which I would recommend to others.

Mr Webb was excellent at explaining his diagnosis and coming up with a treatment plan that worked around my goals. He was great at responding to any concerns or queries that I had and working through things as they came up during the course of the treatment.

I have had a very pleasant experience with Mr Webb. He was open and honest about how he felt he could treat me, as my case was complicated, he discussed with me his difficulty on deciding if a surgical treatment option was going to be beneficial or possible. I felt that he listened to me, as I know my body, and I have never had any pain in my hip Joint, and knew that my issue was truly as simple as a loose bit of tissue/bone that was causing an acute episode of pain/locking. Because of my job in healthcare, I explained my worry caring for people when this episode would happen, and I knew that treatments with injections wouldn't solve this. Although there may be some evidence to say that attempting this surgery would be difficult, he supported me when I felt that the surgery was the option I wanted to go for. He had explained the risks and told me that it is likely that it may not help. I felt that the benefit of this working would completely outweigh the risk should this work, and I was very happy that he was going to try and do this for me. The surgery went ahead and he was very clear in what would happen, the recovery process and the possible outcomes. I ham now 6 months post operative and the issue is completely resolved, and I have now no hip pain what so ever. I swim 2-3 hours per week, cycle 5 hours per week and lightly jog on occasions. I feel that he has given me back my normal lifestyle and I am very grateful he took a chance and listened to me.
