Mr Mark Webb is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a passion for sport-related injuries. He strives not only to provide excellent surgical treatments, but also rounded, bespoke care that allows his patients to get back to the activities they love. This is evident in his specialist training which includes a Master's degree in Sports Medicine from University College London to help him when treating all levels of athletes.
Alongside surgical treatments, Mr Webb offers non-operative (conservative) options. Treatment plans are tailored to the patient's requirements and expectations using the best evidence available. Mr Webb was one of the initial surgeons to use Arthrosamid in the UK.
Mr Webb has trained in the UK and abroad. He has undertaken the Adult Hip & Knee Arthroplasty, Knee Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Prince of Wales and Mater Hospitals in Sydney, Australia. He also worked alongside Mr John O'Donnell at Hip Arthroscopy Australia, who had recently completed his 10,000th hip arthroscopy. On returning to the United Kingdom, Mr Webb completed the Complex Trauma Fellowship at St. George's University Hospital in London and in May 2019 was awarded an International Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship in San Francisco.
Research and monitoring patient outcomes is important to Mr Webb. He has over 25 publications and has presented both nationally and internationally.
In January 2019, Mr Webb started working as a consultant at St. George's where his elective practice focusses on hip and knee joint preservation and sports surgery. He also works in the Major Trauma Centre, managing patients with complex injuries.

Mr Mark Webb is professional, clear, and reassuring in his patient interactions; he puts individuals at ease. He offers detailed explanations of conditions and treatment paths, ensuring patients feel informed and confident. Many patients experience improved mobility and return to active lifestyles following his skilled surgical procedures. Key themes in patient feedback include successful hip arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, and meniscus tear surgery outcomes.
I traveled from abroad to see Mr. Webb, and I could not be more pleased with the professional, scientific and highly skillful approach he took to my care. From the initial consultation through the procedure, he demonstrated clear expertise, careful diagnosis, and thoughtful, evidence-based decision making — which immediately put me at ease. Eight weeks after receiving the Arthrosamid injection I have experienced a dramatic improvement in pain and mobility. The treatment has significantly enhanced my day-to-day comfort and quality of life. Mr. Webb’s thorough explanations, gentle technique, and attentive follow-up made a real difference in my recovery. I highly recommend Mr. Webb to anyone seeking experienced, competent and compassionate care.
Second time I've attended Mr Webb; first for small knee surgery and more recently for knee soreness. On both occasions Mr Webb was very very helpful; very patient with the patient; and very communicative with his explanations, his diagnostic thoughts and ultimately in conveying the various options available to me. Has been really helpful in getting me back 'on the road'. Very grateful to him and thoroughly recommended.
I presented to Mr Webb with knee pain following a meniscus removal two years previously. He talked me through the various options available, all of which would eventually lead to a knee replacement so I decided to just get it done. The procedure, risks etc were fully explained clearly and in layman terms. On the day Mr Webb came and saw me to reassure me of what was going to happen. The procedure went very well and I am now three weeks on. The first few days were very uncomfortable but after 6 days I could stop taking the prescribed strong pain killers and after 10 days I stopped taking paracetamol. I can only put this down to Mr Webb’s expertise as I know others that have had more severe pain for longer.
Clearly a surgeon at the top of his game. Pleasure to meet and be a patient of He seems to have a great team of support and colleagues
Mr Webb is both professional and approachable. His manner is clear, honest, and reassuring, and he takes time to explain procedures, expectations, and outcomes in detail. He fully understood my reluctance to rush into decisions and respected my wish to explore alternative approaches before considering surgery.
Mark is clearly an expert in his field. From our first meeting I knew instantly I was with the right person and now from having my last appointment, my view did not change. Mark is an incredibly detailed and knowledgable surgeon and I can see why he is seen as the best of the best. From snapping my fibula and tearing my ACL to jogging 2.5 months later is solely down to Mark. I would not hesitate to recommend Mark.
Mr Webb kept me informed throughout of any risks involved in the procedure and gave me a good explanation of what had happened post operation. I left feeling confident of making a full recovery and getting back to full activities in due course.
Thoroughly excellent. Picked up the pieces seamlessly when I transferred from NHS to private care following a tibial plateau fracture. Works with a great team (PA, anaesthetists..). A well deserved fantastic reputation.
Mr Webb was very professional and thorough in diagnosing my pain. Took time to explain the various scans and made sure i understood the findings/results. i felt very assured with his advice.
My experience with Mr Webb was great. He is very professional, proactive, and solution focused. I had been to two previous surgeons before being referred to him. He was very clear about the benefits and risk with treatment options and is a very good communicator. My quality of life has improved so much since my hip arthroscopy. I can’t thank Mr Webb and his team enough. Jenna, his PA, is so helpful and warm, she made any follow ups super easy.
Mr Webb is a well respected surgeon with a wealth of knowledge and a reputation for providing great service to his patients
