Mr Mark Webb is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a passion for sport-related injuries. He strives not only to provide excellent surgical treatments, but also rounded, bespoke care that allows his patients to get back to the activities they love. This is evident in his specialist training which includes a Master's degree in Sports Medicine from University College London to help him when treating all levels of athletes.
Alongside surgical treatments, Mr Webb offers non-operative (conservative) options. Treatment plans are tailored to the patient's requirements and expectations using the best evidence available. Mr Webb was one of the initial surgeons to use Arthrosamid in the UK.
Mr Webb has trained in the UK and abroad. He has undertaken the Adult Hip & Knee Arthroplasty, Knee Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Prince of Wales and Mater Hospitals in Sydney, Australia. He also worked alongside Mr John O'Donnell at Hip Arthroscopy Australia, who had recently completed his 10,000th hip arthroscopy. On returning to the United Kingdom, Mr Webb completed the Complex Trauma Fellowship at St. George's University Hospital in London and in May 2019 was awarded an International Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship in San Francisco.
Research and monitoring patient outcomes is important to Mr Webb. He has over 25 publications and has presented both nationally and internationally.
In January 2019, Mr Webb started working as a consultant at St. George's where his elective practice focusses on hip and knee joint preservation and sports surgery. He also works in the Major Trauma Centre, managing patients with complex injuries.

Mr Mark Webb is clear, professional, and understanding in his interactions with patients. He provides thorough examinations, accurate diagnoses, and effective surgical interventions for hip and knee issues, including complex ligament injuries. Patients report successful outcomes, quick recoveries, and feel well-informed and confident throughout their treatment journey. His expertise in hip arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, and addressing knee pain is frequently highlighted.
I had knee surgery 6 weeks ago for an unstable knee joint. PTFJ subluxation. A rare injury and uncommon surgery. It was also hard to diagnose. A chronic injury having surgery nearly 3 years after the injury. I’m so thankful and grateful that I finally found Mr Webb and his team. I had almost given up hope. I felt at ease with Mr Webb from our first meeting. He explained very clearly the process from start to finish and I agreed to go ahead with the surgery. A technique using 3 “Tightropes” were used to stabilise the joint. This is an alternative to fusing, allowing a faster recovery and return to exercise and sport. The surgery was a success. I’m still in the recovery stage with physio, but the knee now feels normal and strong again. I can even start gentle jogs very soon. I’m confident now that I can go on to make a full recovery. Thank you so much Mr Webb, I greatly appreciate all that you and your team have done for me.
I am not sure which element of the experience this is this request for, but the triage was good and follow up letter as well. There was about a week long wait when I did not know how to fast-track MRI scan appointment, this was a bit disappointing (I called, left a message with a colleague, no response). However, after I got the call to book it, it was swift (next day). The scan experience was good.
Mr Webb operated to repair a grade 4c avulsion of the semitendinosus in my right hamstring. His advice after my MRI scan was very well informed and he found time to operate in a very short window to ensure the repair was done within the recommended timeframe. I would highly recommend seeing treatment from Mr Webb for any sports related injury of the hip, leg, knee.
Had an arthroscopy on my left knee. The surgery went well and recovery has been excellent
Mr Webb advised that surgery could almost certainly have a positive impact and he was correct. The surgery performed has been a great success and my recovery was quick.
My daughter injured her knee in an important netball trial. We needed to get back to the selectors ASAP regarding her fitness to play. Mr Webb and Jenna (his amazing secretary) understood our needs and went out of their way to accommodate our requirements. I called on a Friday and was given an appointment on Monday. Mr Webb's examination was thorough and his explanations clear. He 'got' my daughter and her desire to get back on the court. When an MRI was required an appointment was made for us later that day (which Jenna booked ultra efficiently). A telephone consultation with Mr Webb followed the next day and the MRI results and the next steps made clear. I can't thank Mr Webb and Jenna enough for being so helpful and for understanding our needs so completely. Unfortunately knee injuries in netball are common and should we need help in the future we will certainly be returning to Mr Webb.
The main receptionist was rather offhand and not as helpful as she might have been, but after that the rest of the staff were exemplary and everything ran very smoothly. Mr Webb saw me promptly, listened attentively, examined my problem thoroughly, and explained his diagnosis very clearly. He put me at my ease, welcomed my questions, and I left feeling most grateful for such professional and friendly care.
The whole experience from the first time I spoke to Mr Webb on 8th Jan 2026 till my last post Op was easy and informative. All questions I had were always answered. Also being based in Jersey C.I. Can normally make seeking help difficult but Mr Webb made this very easy.
I was referred to Mr Webb after a series of doctors and surgeons had misdiagnosed my condition. From the outset, he was able to accurately identify the root cause of the issues in and around my hip and formulate a clear, effective plan of action. Mr Webb performed arthroscopic surgery on my left hip, and his overall care has been exceptional. One of his standout qualities is his ability to break down complex medical information into clear, understandable concepts. As someone who values understanding the underlying mechanisms of an issue and how an intervention addresses it, I found this incredibly reassuring. He actively encouraged open dialogue throughout the process, which put me completely at ease—I can genuinely say I felt no nerves going into the surgery. Immediately following the procedure, my pain was minimal. I required very little in the way of pain relief and was able to walk the same day without the need for crutches, which I believe reflects the quality of Mr Webb’s surgical work. I was given clear instructions on simple leg movements to promote blood circulation, and his team also recommended physiotherapists they work closely with, making the overall care pathway feel well-coordinated and comprehensive. I saw Mr Webb again at the two-week mark to have the dressing safely removed. He provided encouragement and advised a follow-up at the three-month stage, which is approaching soon. Although it is still early in my recovery, I can already feel meaningful improvements. I’m looking forward to continuing my rehabilitation and ultimately returning to football.
I traveled from abroad to see Mr. Webb, and I could not be more pleased with the professional, scientific and highly skillful approach he took to my care. From the initial consultation through the procedure, he demonstrated clear expertise, careful diagnosis, and thoughtful, evidence-based decision making — which immediately put me at ease. Eight weeks after receiving the Arthrosamid injection I have experienced a dramatic improvement in pain and mobility. The treatment has significantly enhanced my day-to-day comfort and quality of life. Mr. Webb’s thorough explanations, gentle technique, and attentive follow-up made a real difference in my recovery. I highly recommend Mr. Webb to anyone seeking experienced, competent and compassionate care.
