Mr Marcus Reddy

Professor Marcus Reddy is a Consultant Bariatric Surgeon and Clinical Lead for General Surgery at St George's Hospital, London. He also sees private patients at the following hospitals:

• Cleveland Clinic London Hospital
• Lister Hospital
• Ashtead Hospital

Professor Reddy completed his Bachelor's degree in Pharmacology in 1989 and his medical degree at St George's Hospital Medical School in 1992. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1997 and a Fellow in General Surgery at the College in 2004. After qualifying, Professor Reddy trained in many centres of excellence in London and Australia where he developed his expertise in upper GI surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, laparoscopic surgery and liver transplantation.

In his current posts, Professor Reddy offers a number of surgical procedures to treat conditions such as obesity, hernia, haemorrhoids and GORD. The procedures offered include: sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, gastric banding, open & laparoscopic hernia repair, anti-reflux surgery and gallstone surgery. Professor Reddy is also an accredited endoscopist, thus offering colonoscopy and gastroscopy treatment.

At his NHS post at St George's Hospital, he developed the South Thames Bariatric Service which offers surgical procedures to treat bariatric and benign upper GI conditions. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at St George's Hospital, University of London.
