Mr Gavin Jennings

Mr. Gavin Jennings is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over two decades of experience, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder problems, and keyhole surgery for the treatment of a range of shoulder issues. Gavin treats his patients with the ultimate aim of improving limb functionality and reduction of pain, and ensures medical excellence with his practice by use of an internationally validated scoring system. His practice is a gold standard in Europe as he was among the first to utilise up-and-coming technologies, such as computer navigated shoulder surgery. Gavin is also trained in complex shoulder surgery techniques such as tendon transfers and reverse shoulder replacements.

Gavin qualified as a doctor at Cambridge and Imperial College St Mary's Hospital in 1995, and followed this qualification with his specialist orthopaedic training in London. He then travelled to South Africa to undertake a sub-speciality training fellowship in shoulder surgery, where he was then awarded his fellowship, under the supervision of Joe De Beer, an internationally renowned keyhole shoulder surgeon. After this, he travelled to Vancouver for another sub-speciality fellowship in Arthroscopy and Athletic Injuries at the University of British Columbia, under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer for the National Olympic team, Professor McCormack, during which he partook in the treatment of olympians. Upon his return to the UK in 2007, Gavin was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Bath's Royal United Hospital. He also consults at The BMI Bath Clinic.
