Mr Declan Collins

Mr Declan Collins is a Consultant in Plastic Surgery and specialist in scars and burns at Scar Clinic London as well as Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he is the Clinical Research Lead for the Burns department.

Mr Collins graduated in 1998 from University College London, where he completed the Pan-Thames rotation for higher surgical training in plastic surgery and was awarded with the FRCS in 2014. He then went on to undertake two higher training fellowships: in Burns Surgery at St Andrew's Centre for Plastic and Burns Surgery, and in Aesthetic Surgery at King Edward VII Hospital, London.

His areas of interest include laser treatment, wound healing, plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, aesthetic surgery, microsurgery, basal cell carcinoma, anti-aging medicine, liposuction, wound care, surgical flaps, wound closure, soft tissue injuries, wound infection, burn surgery, CO2 laser, electric burns, chemical burns and scar tissue.

Mr Collins completed his PhD at the University of London in 2012, investigating wound healing and burns care. He is now involved in a number of global research trials, and has also set up a laser service to optimise scar outcomes.
