Mr Yazbek was my NHS surgeon nine years ago, when he performed a laparotomy to remove a large ovarian dermoid cyst. My interactions with Mr Yazbek back then were limited, but I knew I was in good hands given his expertise in ovarian diseases.

I sought a consultation with Mr Yazbek at his private practice this year because I’d had several months of mid-cycle bleeding, and the radiographers at the NHS were unable to identify the cause despite multiple ultrasound scans. My NHS gynaecology appointment was also a few months away. Knowing that Mr Yazbek is a leading expert in ultrasound diagnostics, I decided to seek his advice, and that was the best decision I could have made.

Even before performing the pelvic ultrasound scan, Mr Yazbek suspected that polyps were responsible, and the scan and subsequent hysteroscopy proved him right. During the hysteroscopy and insertion of the Mirena IUD, Mr Yazbek found that my cervical canal was very narrow, which made the insertion of the IUD slightly challenging. He resolved this by gently dilating the cervical canal during the procedure.

I am pleased to report that I’ve had hardly any pain after the operation, thanks to Mr Yazbek’s skill and expertise. As someone who tends to be very anxious about my health, it means a great deal to have reassurance from an expert gynaecologist that everything would be fine. And he was right!

I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Yazbek to anyone seeking a second opinion on ultrasound findings or needing gynaecological procedures.
