Mr Richard Andrew Sankey

Mr Andrew Sankey is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. He is based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

He has interests in the following areas:

• Total shoulder arthroplasty
• Shoulder and elbow fractures
• Shoulder and elbow arthritis
• Rotator cuff repair
• Shoulder stabilisation
• Repair of biceps tendon rupture
• Subacromial impingement
• Tennis and golf elbow
• Acromioclavicular joint arthritis

Mr Sankey studied at St John's College, Cambridge, before continuing on to St Mary's Hospital in London, qualifying in 1997. He then specialised in orthopaedics on the University College Hospital/Middlesex rotation in London.

He is actively involved in research, with a particular focus on shoulder arthroplasty and fixation methods for proximal humerus fracture. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals.

Mr Sankey has also designed a customised app to support his patients through surgery, from preparation through to recovery.
