Dr Mekhola Hoff

Dr Mekhola Hoff is an accomplished Consultant Transplant Surgeon and General Surgeon dedicated to providing expert surgical care in complex abdominal conditions and organ transplantation. Her clinical practice focuses on kidney transplantation, pancreas transplantation, and abdominal organ retrieval surgery. With a strong commitment to achieving optimal patient outcomes, Dr Hoff utilises cutting-edge techniques to manage complex cases and assist individuals requiring life-saving transplant procedures.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Hoff serves as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer, playing an active role in training medical students and surgical trainees. Her academic and research interests include cell therapy, organ resuscitation and regeneration, robotic surgery, and organ preservation technologies. Through her active involvement in pioneering surgical research, she contributes to ongoing advancements that improve organ viability and surgical success rates.

Dr Hoff completed her undergraduate medical education at University College London Medical School, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2004. She subsequently undertook specialised transplant surgical training and completed a PhD in transplant immunology at the University of Cambridge. She is a recipient of prestigious surgical research fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, and has received awards including the Medawar Medal and Patey Prize. Dr Hoff maintains active involvement with leading professional bodies, including the European Society for Organ Transplantation and the Herrick Society.
