Dr Krasimir Atanasov

Dr Krasimir Atanasov is a highly accomplished Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist and Clinical Lead who is dedicated to providing exceptional care for infants, children, and young people with cardiac conditions. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he specialises in diagnosing and managing a diverse range of paediatric heart issues. In his clinical practice, Dr Atanasov focuses on advanced cardiac care, with particular expertise in heart failure and cardiac imaging. His specialist interests encompass the diagnosis and management of congenital heart defects, innovative therapies for paediatric arrhythmias, and the treatment of complex cardiomyopathies. Dr Atanasov obtained his primary medical qualification, the State Exam Med, from the Higher Medical Institute Pleven in 1989. He subsequently completed his postgraduate Specialty Training in Paediatrics and Neonatology in Sofia, Bulgaria, achieving his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 1996. To further refine his expertise, he undertook extensive fellowship training in paediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, and paediatric cardiology at prominent clinical centres in the United Kingdom. He was awarded the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) in Paediatrics in 2008 and has since been appointed as a Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist.
