Mr Kirti Jasani

Mr Kirti Jasani is a consultant ophthalmologist based at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital – one of the top 100 specialised hospitals in the world. He has over 10 years' experience and has performed over 2,500 surgical procedures, including 1,000 laser treatments and 1,000 intravitreal injections. His specialist area lies in routine and complex cataract surgery, with a focus on vitreoretinal procedures. Mr Jasani has expertise in the use of the latest micro-incisional vitreoretinal techniques such as 23, 25, and 27G Pars Plana Vitrectomy, bimanual surgery for changes due to severe diabetic retinopathy, surgery for complex retinal detachments, and insertion of secondary intraocular lenses.

He is actively involved in research and has publications in a number of peer-reviewed journals such as Ophthalmology, BMJ Open Ophthalmology, and the Journal of Glaucoma. His current research topics are diabetic eye disease and its surgical management, ocular trauma, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes.
