Mr Hesham Badra

Mr Hesham Badra is an experienced Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in lens replacement and cataract surgery. He practises at Optical Express clinics in Bristol and Cardiff, where he provides advanced vision correction treatments tailored to each patient's individual needs. Having performed more than 1,450 lens replacement procedures, Mr Badra has developed extensive expertise in restoring vision and improving patients' quality of life.

Mr Badra graduated with an MB ChB from Tanta University in 2004 before completing a Master's degree in Ophthalmology at Ain Shams University, Egypt, in 2009. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Ahmed Maher Teaching Hospital and subsequently undertook a fellowship in medical retina and cataract surgery, further enhancing his specialist clinical and surgical expertise. In 2015, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ophthalmology.

His clinical practice includes Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and YAG laser capsulotomy. Alongside his surgical work, Mr Badra is actively involved in research and regularly contributes to local presentations and clinical projects. He is also committed to education and professional development, providing mentorship to medical students and junior doctors while supporting the next generation of ophthalmologists.
