I cannot recommend Mr. Andrew Walkden highly enough. From my first consultation with him, I felt really looked after. Not only is Mr Walkden professional, he is caring, approachable, extremely knowledgeable and very humble. His explanations are understandable and I'm blown away by the cutting edge treatments available for my eye condition should it deteriorate. I was in pain and anxious about my eyes, but Mr. Walkden put me and my husband (who came with me to all appointments) at ease immediately explaining the treatment process thoroughly to us which was extremely reassuring. I feel it a privilege to have him as my consultant and I'm extremely grateful to be in his safe hands.

Andy has a great bedside manner. He offered me reassurance regarding my confusion with health records which I'm grateful for. Andy also confirmed that I didn't have macular degeration after being diagnosed with it during my last appointment. Thanks. Neil

Really appreciated his gentle understanding of a 16 year old facing a challenging time. Talked through options. Listened to our son's questions. Gave us a good sense of what lies ahead.

My experience with Dr Walkden has been very pleasant. He was very professional and clear with his explanation of the ICL procedure during the consultation which I felt very well informed when I walked out. I really appreciate that he explained the risks very thoroughly and was reassuring with his answer to my questions. He built a great rapport with myself and I feel very happy to have him operate.

I have been fortunate to have Dr Walkden lead on Cornea transplant journey since my initial operation in Sept 2022. Today like every other encounter I have with him, he puts me as a whole person first then my eyes. He remembers personal details which makes me feel valued and most of all he explains things in simple terms and always asks me “what do you think about that?” and “tell me what you feel would work for you?”. He especially ensures expectations are managed by telling me what is, the reason why and not what he thinks I want to hear. No matter how busy he is (and you can clearly see he is very busy in the clinic helping others) he ALWAYS slows down and pays specific attention to me, my eye care journey and ensuring I leave informed and at peace. Dr Walkden is a person centric, caring and highly profession person and I am blessed to have him care for me and my eyes.
