Mr Scala was brilliant from first meeting him, he identified my problem quickly, explained my options clearly and has a wonderful bedside manner, very reassuring. I chose to have a significant surgery undergoing a floaterectomy and despite it being a little scary I had my hand held (literally at times) by Mr Scala and his team and I have been delighted with the result. recovery was straightforward, painless and relatively fast.

I cannot recommend Mr Dhawahir-Scala highly enough. From the very first consultation, his calm, professional and reassuring manner immediately put me at ease. He took the time to explain the procedure clearly and thoroughly, making sure I understood what to expect at every stage. His expertise and confidence were evident throughout, while his kind and approachable manner made what could have been a very worrying experience feel much less daunting. What really sets him and his team apart is the level of care they provide. They genuinely go above and beyond to ensure their patients feel supported, not just during the procedure but afterwards too. I was particularly impressed that the team personally contacted me the day after the procedure to check that my recovery was progressing satisfactorily and to make sure I had no concerns or questions. That level of personal attention is incredibly reassuring and demonstrates how genuinely committed they are to their patients’ wellbeing. Throughout the whole experience, I felt listened to, cared for and completely reassured. The standard of care, professionalism and compassion was exceptional, and I am extremely grateful for the outstanding treatment I received. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him and his wonderful team to anyone considering eye surgery. They truly go above and beyond, and it is clear that patient care is at the heart of everything they do.

Very positive experience. Everything was well explained & the next actions were clearly agreed. It was great to see the post-consultation notes arrive on the same day as the consultation. Mr Dhawahir-Scala came across as an excellent consultant. The only slight negative was that the appointment started 45 minutes later than expected. It would have been good for the admin team to have set expectations & explain that things were running late, rather than have me feel I had been forgotten.

I first met with Mr Dhawahir-Scala in January, having been advised by my optometrist that she was concerned about the rising pressures in my eyes. My initial consultation involved many measurements and assessments, all of which were carefully explained to myself and my husband. The outcome of this appointment was advice that cataract surgery would reduce pressure and open up the channels. My first operation was on 11 March with the second one being 29 April. I have now been discharged on 26 June 2026, and am delighted to report that the procedures were both successful. I felt supported throughout the period, Mr D-S was re-assuring, having that very special gift of inspiring confidence in his obvious expertise whilst tempering it with a warmth and empathy so important to patient trust and confidence. All of this being underpinned with a great sense of humour!

Mr Scala recently reviewed my post surgery progress. He combines a friendly approach with a professional thoroughness. I have time to ask questions as the appointment progresses and as new queries might emerge. In light of this I feel more confident and accepting about sometimes less welcome findings. I particularly like the clinic notes which patients are copied into. Information and next steps are outlined in detail: great when your anxious mind won’t take it all in! I’m also confident that others caring for my optical health will be fully informed.

My recent visit was excellent from start to finish. The doctor was highly knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely caring. I appreciated how they explained each step as we went, which left me feeling fully informed and reassured. By the end, I felt confident in my eye health and was given clear, actionable next steps. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience and would gladly recommend this practice.

Mr Scala is an outstanding surgeon who was able to repair my macular hole. My eye healed much quicker than initially thought and the level of vision that has returned is far greater than the probable outcome. Mr Scala was probably cautiously optimistic but I believe my excellent recovery is down to his skill as a surgeon and post operative advice.
