Dr Kay Thomas

Dr Kay Thomas is a highly regarded Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in the comprehensive management of adult urological conditions. With extensive clinical expertise in endourology and complex stone disease, she provides tailored, patient-focused care to individuals presenting with disorders of the urinary tract. Dr Thomas is committed to combining advanced surgical techniques with compassionate care, ensuring patients receive thorough diagnostic evaluations and individualised treatment plans.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of urological conditions, with a strong interest in upper tract endourology and complex urinary stone management, including inherited conditions such as cystinuria. Dr Thomas performs sophisticated minimally invasive interventions, including percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), flexible ureteroscopy, and laser or ultrasonic lithotripsy. Additionally, she supervises extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), performs diagnostic urological ultrasound scans, and specialises in the endoscopic diagnosis and management of bladder cancer.

Dr Thomas completed her medical degree (MBBS) at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, Imperial College London, qualifying in 1994. She went on to achieve a higher research Doctorate of Medicine (MD) and completed specialist surgical training, earning her Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology (FRCS Urol).
