About Mr Simon Choong
Mr Simon Choong is a Consultant Urologist conducting paediatric stone surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children and runs national and international masterclasses in stones and endourological management.
Mr Choong undertook his medical school and postgraduate urological training at University College Hospital, London. He was appointed to lead the stone and endourology unit at University College London Hospitals in 2002, managing complex urinary tract stones and providing minimally invasive management of upper urinary tract transitional cell tumours, pelviureteric junction obstruction, complex ureteric strictures and kidney obstruction.
Mr Choong was awarded a Hunterian Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000 and the BAUS / BJU International Travelling Fellowship in 2001.

Mr Choong is a great urologist who is extremely professional and also amiable. He was able to see me in a borderline emergency situation, make sure I was able to get all of the tests needed as quickly as possible and then get me booked in for a procedure in the same week. He explained everything thoroughly and made sure that my concerns were addressed. All in all, he managed to make having kidney stones way less of a misery than it should have been.
