Dr Jessica Slater

Dr Jessica Slater is a dedicated Consultant Community Paediatrician specialising in the comprehensive care and development of children and young people. With a primary clinical focus on developmental, neurodevelopmental, and social paediatrics, Dr Slater provides compassionate, family-centred care tailored to the unique physical, emotional, and social needs of infants, children, and adolescents. She is committed to supporting young patients and their families through detailed clinical assessments, early diagnostic evaluations, and collaborative care planning.

Her broad clinical expertise encompasses general community paediatrics, neurodevelopmental conditions, and child safeguarding. Dr Slater serves as a Named Doctor for Children in Care and acts as a Medical Advisor for adoption agencies, undertaking specialised health assessments for looked-after children and young people transitioning into adoption or foster care. Her clinical practice includes evaluating developmental delays, supporting children with special educational needs, and managing complex physical and behavioural health needs through coordinated multi-agency care.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr Slater actively contributes to medical education and clinical governance as an Educational Supervisor. In this role, she oversees the training and professional development of junior doctors, specialty registrars, and medical students. She maintains specialist registration in Paediatrics with the General Medical Council and regularly participates in ongoing professional training to deliver up-to-date, evidence-based care for her young patients.
