Dr Sonal Kansra is a consultant paediatrician at BMI Thornbury Hospital and Sheffield Children's Hospital. He specialises in airway and breathing disorders with a particular interest in asthma, chronic cough,recurrent chest infections ,respiratory allergies, aero-digestive disorders, obstructive sleep apnoea, and cystic fibrosis. Dr Kansra is the current lead of the difficult to treat asthma service at Sheffield Children's Hospital.
He first qualified in 2000 with an MBBS before going on to achieve an MD in paediatrics in 2003. Following this, Dr Kansra spent time training at a number of prestigious institutions, including Great Ormond Street Hospital and Nottingham University Hospital. Following this, he undertook a CCT in Paediatrics and Paediatric Respiratory Medicine.
Dr Kansra is an active researcher who has publications in a number of journals and has spoken at national and international meetings. Dr Kansra is the president of the British Paeditric Respiratory Society (BPRS).He is also active in medical education and is a co-opted member on the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Respiratory CSAC committee.Dr Kansra is also a member of the European Respiratory Society's Paeditric HERMES examination committee.

Could not rate Dr Kansas highly enough. After not being listened to by numerous healthcare professionals I sought out a specialist in childhood asthma.
