Dr Jan Idkowiak

Dr Jan Idkowiak is a dedicated Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and Paediatrician who provides comprehensive, empathetic care for infants, children, and young adolescents. With a focus on hormone conditions and childhood metabolic health, Dr Idkowiak prioritises clear communication, reassuring guidance, and evidence-based treatments tailored to the unique developmental needs of every patient.

Dr Idkowiak qualified in Medicine from the University of Halle-Wittenberg in 2005, obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2007. He completed specialist clinical training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Endocrinology in Germany before expanding his research pursuits in the United Kingdom, where he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular Medicine in 2015. He became a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2014 and received his Certificate of Completion of Training in 2019.

Throughout his clinical work, Dr Idkowiak specialises in assessing and managing complex endocrine and metabolic conditions in young people. His clinical interests encompass adrenal disorders, inborn errors of steroidogenesis, childhood obesity, premature adrenarche, polycystic ovary syndrome in adolescents, and rare genetic hormone conditions. He also manages growth and pubertal development issues, as well as paediatric adrenocortical tumours, combining advanced diagnostics with personalised therapeutic plans to support long-term well-being.
