Dr Deepak Parasuraman

Dr. Deepak Parasuraman (Popularly addressed by his  patients, as either Dr Deepak or Dr P) is a Paediatrician with Neurodiversity, Neurodisability and Neurodevelopment expertise, practising in Birmingham. With extensive experience, Dr. Parasuraman specialises in various treatments and conditions within paediatrics. His areas of expertise include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment, ADHD assessment, General Paediatrics, Developmental delay, related sleep disorders, and failure to thrive.

As a Neuroaffirmative Practitioner, he is keen to support and celebrate the unique strengths and charecterstics of children, as well as, work with them to deduce a robust and individualised treatment and supportive plan .

Dr. Parasuraman currently provides his services from private clinics in Birmingham and Solihull.

He is deeply committed to delivering the highest standard of care to every child under his supervision. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Parasuraman has held the position of an NHS consultant for the past decade.

Dr. Parasuraman began his medical career by obtaining an MBBS degree from Thanjavur Medical College. He further pursued advanced qualifications, achieving DCH and MRCPCH (later elected to FRCPCH) certifications from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He continued to expand his knowledge by obtaining a Diploma in Paediatric Neurodisability from Sheffield Hallam University. He has also recently completed an Executive MBA from Aston University.

Apart from his clinical practice, Dr. Parasuraman is actively engaged in medical research and participates in industry trials. He has contributed towards the publication of several articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Deepak Parasuraman's sub-specialties cover a wide range of paediatric challenges, including ADHD, Autism, autism-related issues, Paediatric Neuromuscular conditions, Paediatric Neurodisability, Paediatric Neurodiversity, sleep-related problems (Related to above), and associated General Paediatric challenges. His dedication to providing comprehensive and compassionate care makes him a respected figure in the field of paediatrics and neurodevelopment.

Whilst he aims to support the below conditions, his skills are limited and he does not work outside of his expertise. If your expectations or  the needs of the child are beyond what he can provide, he will suggest you seen another specialist/refer you forward- for example Neurologist or Mental health specialist, espeically if it is a complex situation.
