Dr Iona Bell

Dr Iona Bell is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician. Dr Bell's expertise lies in diagnosing and managing diseases affecting the oesophagus, stomach, small and large bowel. They offer both diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Dr Bell began their medical journey at University College London, where they earned a BSc in Immunology and Cell Pathology. They then pursued their medical degree at Imperial College School of Medicine, qualifying in 1999. Following their initial medical training in West London, Bristol, and Gloucester, Dr Bell undertook specialist Gastroenterology training in London and Kent. Their dedication to research is evident in the five years spent completing a PhD, focusing on gut immunology in both health and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr Bell is also a passionate advocate for Less Than Full Time (LTFT) training, supporting junior doctors in balancing their work and personal lives.
