Dr Hemant Sharma is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with over three years of experience in unselected gastroenterology, interventional endoscopy and ERCP. Dr Sharma graduated from Bangalore University in India, undertaking further training before entering into specialist training in gastroenterology in 2007 and subsequently completing two years of sub-specialisation at the Royal Free Hospital Liver Institute in London and the University College of London in 2010.

Dr Sharma provided an excellent service both by phone last Friday and in hospital on Tuesday. One of the best I have had. He provided great clarity on the procedure, patience in explanations, pre and post op discussions and an excellent manner in delivering all this. Can't get better than this!

Overall good. Although perhaps felt a little rushed during first consultation and wasn’t really prompted to ask any questions or raise concerns about what was to happen thereafter. When told about the need to have a gastroscopy, I felt I could have had a more reassured explanation of the procedure. I had to ask questions myself to settle any confusion. But he was pleasant enough nonetheless I suppose and explained things when asked.

Although I have, as yet, to meet Dr Sharma in person, I had a very satisfactory and reassuring telephone consultation with him. He answered all my questions in layman's terms and gave me all the time I needed. He put my mind at rest as to the procedure I would be having.

Everything on the day was excellent. I was pleased that I had a phone session with Dr Sharma later, and that he advised on what pills to take and when. (It might have been nice if I'd known I was going to get this earlier.)

Dr Sharma comes across as very professional and knowledgeable and also very caring. He made me feel that he was actively listening to any questions and concerns that I had and not at all rushed in our conversations. I feel that I trust his judgement and recommendations going forward.
