Dr Helen Winter

Dr Helen Winter is a dedicated Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in the comprehensive care and management of patients diagnosed with cancer. With a strong clinical focus on patient-centred care, she emphasises individualised treatment strategies designed to address the specific needs of each person throughout their treatment journey. Her clinical work encompasses the systemic management of complex malignancies, with focused expertise in melanoma and urological cancers.

Dr Winter completed her foundational medical degree, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Master of Science (MSc). She further advanced her academic training by completing a Doctorate of Philosophy (DPhil) specialising in cancer imaging and cell-free DNA. She is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

Beyond her direct clinical care, Dr Winter is actively involved in clinical research, clinical trial delivery, and medical education. Her research interests focus on modern therapeutic approaches, including immunotherapy and checkpoint inhibitor treatments, as well as the clinical utility of circulating biomarkers and the gut microbiome in evaluating treatment response. She is committed to embedding clinical research into everyday medical practice to accelerate diagnosis, enhance therapeutic outcomes, and ensure compassionate, evidence-based care for every patient.
