I am an Associate Professor in Breast Oncology at the University of Bristol and an Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist at Bristol NHS Foundation Trust specialising in breast cancer. I practice in all areas of breast oncology but have a special interest in younger women with breast cancer, management of the side effects of treatment, antibody drug conjugates, including Her2 low disease, molecular testing and in triple negative breast cancer. I am passionate about improving patient care and helping patients decide the best individual treatment for them and I always spend time trying to go above and beyond for patients with appointments never shorter than 30 minutes for follow ups or 60 minutes for new patients or second opinions. I regularly give talks for Breast Cancer Now for women with breast cancer to help them understand treatment options for both metastatic breast cancer and TNBC.
I completed my medical oncology clinical and academic training in Bristol and undertook a Cancer Research UK Clinical Fellowship leading to being awarded a PhD from Cardiff University examining the role of breast cancer stem cells in chemo-resistance and exploring novel therapeutic strategies. I also undertook a postgraduate diploma in oncology from the Institute of Cancer Research University of London. I was the recipient of a Coltmans Scholar Award from the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS), the worlds largest breast cancer meeting, for work on the gut microbiome and breast cancer, and have multiple peer-reviewed publications. I have presented widely at national and international conferences - including being on the faculty at SABCS 2026 as part of the TNBC educational track.
I am heavily involved in clinical trials as a principal investigator in Bristol and global chief investigator. This includes global chief investigator roles in 2 clinical studies for metastatic breast cancer and I have trials in both the NHS and private sector. I am a member of national collaborative research groups and was appointed to the National Cancer Institute Breast Cancer Precision Medicine Working group in 2022 and I am member of the NICE expert panel of breast oncologists for the breast cancer guideline committee.
I strive to provide personalised care using up-to-date pragmatic evidenced-based medicine.

Information is always really clearly delivered with care and empathy.
He is a great Dr he puts you at ease and makes you feel relaxed
I find Dr Tim Robinson explains everything very clearly. So you understand what all the technical wording means. You don't need to be a Dr to understand the process and what's happening next
Had a telephone call to see how I was, ended up a video call, Dr robinson as always very helpful suggesting options for the food feeling stuck and referred me to the consultant for a review
Dr Robinson was excellent. I could not have asked for better care. He made me feel at ease, thoroughly explained and discussed everything. He went above and beyond to get my results to me very quickly. I felt that I was in the very best hands, thank you so much.
Tim is amazing very supportive, his exceptional care and dedication is fantastic, his expertise and kindness goes a long way in giving me confidence in the cancer process, always there when I need extra support im very lucky and blessed to have him as my oncologist
I've been under the care of Tim for the last year. He is professional, kind, and caring. He makes me feel at ease, answers my questions, and reassures me. Tim is easy to talk to, which makes the whole process feel much less stressful. He is dedicated to finding the best care possible, taking the time to explain every option with patience and clarity.
Dr Robinson prescribed Fezolinitent to help with the prolific hot flushes I was getting from the endocrine treatment and I was able to confirm that it was working brilliantly. They’ve basically disappeared.
Dr Robinson explained each step of my treatment plan carefully and fully. He answered all my queries in a kind and compassionate manner and ensured I understood each step of the process.
Tim is great and always there when I need to ask something or talk, he always makes time.
Dr Tim Robinson as a brilliant oncologist specialised in breast cancer and as academic leading several international clinical trials. Science drives improvement in patient outcomes. Great to work with.
