Dr Emma Crosbie

Dr Emma Crosbie is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Professor of Gynaecological Oncology who provides compassionate, comprehensive, and patient-focused healthcare. She delivers expert clinical care across the field of women's reproductive health, supporting patients through complex diagnostic and therapeutic journeys. With an empathetic and reassuring approach, Dr Crosbie ensures that each individual receives clear guidance, thoughtful care, and personal support tailored to their healthcare needs.

Dr Crosbie completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Edinburgh Medical School, graduating with an MBChB with Honours in 1997 after completing an intercalated First Class Honours Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology in 1995. She subsequently undertook specialist academic research at the University of Manchester, earning a PhD in Gynaecological Oncology in 2002. In 2006, she achieved Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG).

In her clinical practice, Dr Crosbie specialises in the screening, prevention, and early diagnosis of gynaecological cancers. She possesses clinical expertise in the fertility-sparing management of womb (endometrial) cancer and pre-cancer, as well as providing tailored medical management for patients who are unable to undergo hysterectomy due to co-existing medical conditions. Her clinical focus also encompasses cervical cancer screening, human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, and assessing hereditary risk for gynaecological cancers, including Lynch syndrome.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Crosbie leads advanced research into non-invasive triage tools and screening methods designed to detect gynaecological cancers at their earliest, most treatable stages. As a dedicated Consultant and Researcher, she is committed to reducing patient anxiety, avoiding unnecessary invasive tests, and improving long-term health outcomes for women through high-quality, evidence-based care.
