Mr Edward Jefferies

Mr Edward Jefferies is a Consultant Urologist based in Bath. He holds an NHS consultant post at the Royal United Hospital, where he provides specialist urological care and serves as Clinical Lead for Urology. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the urology service and supervising urology registrars during their specialist training.

Mr Jefferies qualified in medicine from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2006. He completed specialist urology training in the South West of England, with focused experience in the management of lower urinary tract symptoms, complex urinary stone disease and prostate cancer diagnosis. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology in 2014 and was appointed as a consultant at the Royal United Hospital in 2016.

During his training, Mr Jefferies undertook clinical research into the side effects of treatments for advanced prostate cancer. His work was presented at national and international meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals. He also served as the trainee representative on the Oncology Committee of the British Association of Urological Surgeons between 2014 and 2016.

His clinical practice includes the investigation and management of benign prostate disease, urinary stone disease and bladder conditions. Procedures offered include cystoscopy, bladder lesion removal, circumcision and assessment of scrotal lumps. He is on the specialist register with the General Medical Council and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
