About Professor Raj Persad
Professor Raj Persad, Consultant Urological Surgeon, currently works within the North Bristol NHS Trust, as well as several private practices in Bristol and London. He is highly specialised in the treatment of benign prostate disease, erectile dysfunction, incontinence, bladder dysfunction, loss of libido, Peyronie's disease, and low testosterone symptoms. He also has a wealth of experience in managing male fertility, performing vasectomies, varicocele correction, and testicular extraction of sperm.
Professor Persad has one of a few surgeons that can offer the use of minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of benign prostate disease such as Urolift, REZUM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh8BAUi6PWo), and Green Light Laser. He is also highly experienced in the use of advanced prostate diagnostic techniques for cancer diagnosis, including 'fusion biopsy' (https://www.prostatecare.co.uk/on-site-fusion-biopsy/). He works in tandem with the oncology team to ensure that post-treatment symptoms of radiation and treatment-induced toxicities are treated effectively. He currently holds the position of one of the leaders in treatment of end stage erectile dysfunction. In cases where medicine or medical devices have not worked, he can offer penile prosthetic insertion in its various forms to suit patient choice. Professor Persad has over 25 years of experience in handling male infertility issues, and bases his practise on treatment plans that suit the patient's lifestyle best with the most up-to-date scientific advice.
He is an active educator, he has mentored Urologists in the UK and abroad and holds the position of visiting professor in several prestigious universities including The Universities of West of England and Bristol.

10/10 - Professor Persad was very professional, and really helped me with the treatment type of my prostate cancer. I had fusion Biopsy’s and then HYFU treatment and both procedures went well with minimal side effects. The Teams at Bristol Spire and Nuffield also deserve a big Thankyou as I was made to feel calm during a fairly stressful process and would report that they all had a very caring attitude towards me. I will certainly recommend Professor Persad and his team to any man suffering with Prostate issues
Although he did not spwnd a great deal of time with me himself, he referred me to exactly the right people and I believe I am likely on a road to recovery as a result.

Mr persad is a gentleman, helping me in so many ways but most important he took the time and patience in talking through my health issues and advising me very clearly , with out him my life would have changed drastically for the worse, I was checked very thoroughly and was saved a lot of heart ach , thank you doctor 🙏for being who you are in such a difficult world we live in, you are a hero that saves lives everyday lots of recpect many thanks paul scherptong JNR.
