Dr Steven Shaw

Dr Steve Shaw is a Consultant Cardiologist and Heart Failure Specialist based in Manchester, UK. Following his initial graduation from The University of Manchester in 1999, he later returned to complete his PhD in Medical Research in 2006 and was awarded the Ellen Mitchell Memorial Medal for Postgraduate Student of the Year. He gained vital experience and training from Wythenshawe Hospital which is renowned for one of the largest heart failure units within the UK.

Dr Shaw is regarded as an international expert in Advanced Heart Failure and is the leading heart transplant and ventricular assist device cardiologist across North West England.

He is able to manage all common cardiovascular complaints including the management of high blood pressure, palpitations, and shortness of breath, blackouts, chest pain and the assessment of cardiovascular risk. He has a specialist interest in heart failure, cardiomyopathy, ventricular assist devices, transplantation and right heart catheterisation. He is an expert in ventricular assist devices and transplants.
