Dr Matthew Lewis

Dr Matthew Lewis is a Consultant in Gastroenterology, specialising in diseases of the gut, pancreas and liver. He sees patients with a range of symptoms including indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, rectal bleeding and jaundice. He carries out Gastroscopies, Flexible Sigmoidoscopies and Colonoscopies.

His medical training took place in Manchester and North West England. In 2002, he started as Consultant at City Hospital, Birmingham. Since 2018, he has been Executive Medical Director at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and has been an accredited colonoscopist for the bowel cancer screening programme since 2008.

When not in work, he enjoys spending time in Sutton Park - running, sailing or walking the dog.
