Dr Dorthe Grainger

Dr Dorthe Grainger is a dedicated Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Intensivist specialising in paediatric critical care. She provides expert medical support for infants, children, and young people requiring intensive monitoring and complex clinical management. Dr Grainger is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care, ensuring that young patients and their families receive complete reassurance during challenging medical circumstances.

Dr Grainger graduated with her medical degree (MBBS) from the Humboldt University of Berlin in 1995. Following her initial medical qualification, she completed her Senior House Officer training in Leeds before undertaking higher specialist training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine in the North West of England. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH).

Her areas of clinical interest include flight medicine, long-term ventilation for children with complex healthcare needs, and acute paediatric retrieval services. Dr Grainger is particularly focused on establishing integrated care pathways for long-term ventilation, aiming to empower medical teams across acute healthcare settings to manage critically ill children safely, effectively, and confidently.
