Dr Dilan Athauda

Dr Dilan Athauda is a highly accomplished Consultant Neurologist and Neuroscientist who dedicatedly supports patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. As a Consultant Neurologist specialising in movement disorders, Dr Athauda has a particular clinical and research interest in Parkinson's disease, exploring how metabolism impacts neurodegeneration. He is actively involved in pioneering clinical trials investigating potential disease-modifying treatments, including the use of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. His expertise spans a broad spectrum of neurological care, including the management of multiple sclerosis, Huntington's disease, headaches, and epilepsy. He also supports patients requiring advanced diagnostic services, such as electro-encephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and neuroradiology, as well as specialised neuromuscular respiratory care.

Dr Athauda completed his medical training at King's College London, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc). He subsequently obtained a PhD in Neuroscience from University College London, focusing on innovative therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative disorders.
