Consultant in Acute, Stroke & General Neurology
National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery (UCLH) • Princess Grace Hospital • Harley Street Clinic • Queen Square Private Consulting Rooms
What I do
New or unexplained neurological symptoms are worrying — I help adults get answers quickly. I specialise in the rapid assessment of new neurological symptoms, offering same‑day diagnostic pathways and urgent specialist care. I have undertaken more than 6,000 urgent neurological assessments, including thousands of video consultations for suspected stroke, and I founded and lead the UK’s first Neurology Same Day Emergency Care (NeuroSDEC) service at UCLH, enabling many patients to be assessed, investigated and treated without hospital admission.
My approach
I listen carefully, give you time to explain your concerns, and explain findings in clear, straightforward language. I combine a thorough neurological examination with rapid diagnostics and decisive treatment where needed.
My aim is that every patient leaves with a clear understanding of:
Conditions I commonly treat
Rapid access — diagnostics, treatments and access options
Diagnostics: same or next‑day urgent assessment; rapid MRI and specialist tests.
Treatments: migraine education and management; greater occipital nerve blocks; IV magnesium and other infusion therapies where clinically appropriate.
Access: video consultations or face to face; inpatient and outpatient care at Princess Grace or Queen Square;
Direct referral to subspecialist neurology and neurosurgery when needed.
Experience & innovation
Founder and clinical lead of NeuroSDEC at UCLH
Helped to pilot and develop the remote video assessment pathway used by London & East of England Ambulance Services for suspected stroke.
I hold a PhD in Huntington’s disease, have subspecialist training in dementia, and am a Senior Lecturer at UCL, combining clinical care with teaching and research.
What this means for you
Fast, friendly & expert neurological assessment from a clinician highly experienced in seeing urgent cases, with clear communication, diagnostic clarity and a personalised treatment plan.
To arrange a rapid assessment or second opinion, please book via Princess Grace Hospital or Queen Square Private Consulting Rooms.
