Mr Alex Leo

Mr. Alex Leo is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with many years of experience in the treatment and management of colorectal conditions and pelvic floor disorders. He also specialises in laparoscopic, mini-invasive surgery and abdominal wall hernia reconstructions.

Mr. Leo earned his primary medical degree at the University Perugia, Italy, after which he undertook his training in General and Colorectal Surgery, for which he gained his Medical Doctorate cum laude in General Surgery from the University of Udine, in addition to his diploma in General Surgery. After this, Mr. Leo moved to the UK to work as a specialist registrar at St. Mark's Hospital, where he gained a fellowship in Neuromodulation and Physiology under the renowned Miss Carolynne Vaizey.

Since his Consultant appointment at Northwick Park and St Mark's Hospital, Mr. Leo has also earned his Medical Doctorate from Imperial College London, for his research on the treatment and diagnosis of faecal incontinence. He has also published numerous scientific research papers on colorectal disorders and pelvic floor conditions and has presented his research at various national and international conferences and meetings.
