Mr Constantin Durnea

Mr Constantin Durnea is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in Urogynaecology, with over two decades of clinical experience. He qualified in medicine at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” in Moldova in 1994 and completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the same institution in 1997. He subsequently moved to the UK and Ireland, where he completed a PhD at University College Cork, Ireland, in 2015.

Mr Durnea is currently the Clinical Lead for the Urogynaecology Service at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital. He also practises privately at the Cobham Clinic, Bishop Wood Hospital, and Spire Harpenden Hospital.

In his clinical practice, Mr Durnea manages a wide range of general gynaecological and urogynaecological conditions, including heavy and irregular menstrual bleeding, menopause related problems, polycystic ovary syndrome, chronic pelvic pain, vulvo-vaginal pain, recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. He is highly experienced in a variety of surgical procedures, such as Bartholin’s cyst excision, laparoscopy, sterilisation, hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, myomectomy, and hysterectomy. He also offers specialised urogynaecological procedures, including stress urinary incontinence surgery, intravesical Botox injections, and robotic-assisted surgery.

Mr Durnea is actively involved in research and has published extensively in peer-reviewed specialty journals. He iserved as a Committee Member of the International Urogynaecology Association, contributing to the development of international guidelines and classifications. He is also passionate about medical education and regularly trains and supervises junior doctors.
